Townley, L.R., and Barr, A.D. (1997), Estimated concentrations of calcium, ammonium sulphate, and sodium chloride in groundwater recovered near the Baldivis tailings pond using adaptive dual pump recovery (DPR) bores, Report to WMC Kwinana Nickel Refinery, CSIRO Land and Water Consultancy Report No. 97-9, 40pp., May. [Confidential]

The purpose of this brief report is to present new predictions of the time variations in composition of groundwater recovered at Baldivis under Scenario 5 of Townley and Barr (1996). The new results differ from those presented by Barr et al. (1995) in two ways: first, because the recovery scenario is different, there now being fully adaptive Dual Pump Recovery with the rates of pumping in different pumps changing in time, and second, because particle tracking methods have been used to interpret the results obtained with SHARP, rather than an approximate method based on elliptical capture zones.
